Wireless Solutions

Wi-Fi is something which we all use on a daily basis. In fact, it has become an integral part of life when it comes to network connectivity be it from mobile devices, laptops or desktops. It has given the ease and the comfort of doing things wirelessly. Networking Cable were the talk of the town before Wi-Fi came into the picture. They were “okay” for that time but as the organisations and workspaces grew larger, with increase in number of employees, the messier it started to become to manage the workplaces. Then came the need of something which made workplaces less congested and more manageable. So, the concept of Wi-Fi was introduced which made whole paradigm shift of network connectivity and changed the way the offices started to work. Finally, from workspaces it managed to make it to households, public areas, railway stations, practically more or less everywhere. Things just became simpler, accessible and more efficient with greater networking speeds and enhanced internet connectivity.

So, what is Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi is a technology for radio wireless local area network. Devices like computer, laptop, smart-phone, smart TV’s, are compatible with Wi-Fi. These devices can connect to the internet via WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) and a wireless access point.

Wi-Fi is a technology for radio wireless local area network. Devices like computer, laptop, smart phone, smart TV’s, are compatible with Wi-Fi. These devices can connect to the internet via WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) and a wireless access point.

These access points have range of about 20 meters or more depending on the square kilometre of the area the network has to cover. Wi-Fi commonly runs on 2.4Ghz and 5.8Ghz radio bands and these bands are subdivided into multiple channels to time share multiple networks. Too technical? Let’s break it down.  ‘

It simply means it takes the help of Ultra High Frequencies and Super High Frequencies radio bands to emit the wavelengths which can go through normal solid materials. It provides more efficient and fast internet connection and better networking. Multiple devices can connect to the same Wi-Fi and can access the internet at the same time. At close range some versions of updated Wi-Fi with appropriate hardware can fetch over 1Gbps of speed to the user.

ADVANTAGE

The basic advantage it provides is the wireless connectivity. No wires, no cables, no congestion and no mess. It is wireless so it is convenient and provides the ease of multiple device connectivity. It helps in getting every work done in a fast and manageable manner.

VERDICT

So the real question, how far can we push the Wi-Fi technology? The advent of Wi-Fi technology really took to effect from 1999 when the WIFI alliance took over. The first version was released in the year 1997 from then the version just got better and better. With the improved internet connectivity, wifi will get faster, better and efficient over time. #change—With time and with better hardware it will be upgraded to and better the connection will be for the wifi. It will have increased speed and increase in internet connectivity. As the generation goes, the better it will get over time. The Wi-Fi was talk of the town a decade ago and now it is here to stay.
